User and Reference Guide for the Intel® C++ Compiler 14.0
The following applies to Microsoft Visual Studio* 2008.
If you have multiple versions of the Intel® C++ Compiler installed, you can select which version you want from the Compiler Selection dialog box:
Select a project, then use Tools > Options. In the Options dialog box that displays, expand the Intel Composer XE and C++ nodes and select Compilers.
Choose the desired compiler version from the choices on the Selected version of suite/compiler drop-down menu.
To select the compiler (either Intel® C++ or Microsoft Visual C++*) to use for an Intel® C++ project, do the following:
Select a project, then Project > Properties > General.
In the Intel Specific portion of the property page, use the drop-down menu associated with Compiler and Environment Settings to choose either the Intel® C++ Compiler (icl.exe) or Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler (cl.exe).
This property is available only for Intel® C++ projects. In other words, in order to see this property page selection, your project must have previously been specified as an Intel® C++ project.
If you select Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler in this property page, the contents of other property pages change; specifically, Intel-specific properties become hidden. When the Microsoft Visual C++* compiler is selected, the only Intel-specific property available for selection is Compiler and Environment Settings .
Regardless of the selected compiler, xilink/xilib and the Intel environment will be used for building.
